Xiamen I

I took an 8 hour overnight bus to Xiamen, in Fujian province, home of my ancestral roots. I didn't think to bring my passport (duh) and couldn't stay in any real hotels so the cabbie took me to this lady's house who rented rooms out. Next the cabbie recommended a tour guide to take me around. She was useless so I ended up going around by myself. I went on a river cruise but it was raining so hard you couldn't see much. Next I went over to GuLangYu Island and saw some sights including Sunlight Rock Park, Shuzhuang Garden (including the famous Piano Museum) and HaoYue Park. Next I met up with some relatives who showed me where my grandfather's family used to live before they demolished it a year ago. Finally checked out some Xiamen nightlife at Cleopatra Bar.
