Leshan

August 22, 2006 (Leshan, Sichuan, China)
I met a bunch of folks so Laura, Jenny, Peter, Fritha, Edaan and I hired a van to drive us 2 hours from Chengdu to Leshan. Here we saw the Leshan Giant Buddha, the tallest stone Buddha in the World at 71 meters. Construction began in 713 and it took 90 years to complete. We also walked around the Lingyun grounds to visit the covered bridge and temples.
