Ilha do Mel - Honey Island

John, Traci, Boyd and I took a bus out from Curitiba on a scenic ride to the Atlantic Coastline to the local resort island of Ilha do Mel (Honey Island). It was nice as motorized vehicles aren't allowed on the island and the only way to get there is by ferry. We did a lot of hiking and checked out Fortaleza Beach, Fortaleza (the Fort), Shell Lighthouse, Long Beach, Miguel's Beach and the Gruta das Encantadas (Encantadas Cave). In between, we took a motorized boatride/taxi to Palm Island, justifiably named with Palm Trees growing all over the small island. It was a nice scenic daytrip and a throwback to a time and place where life was simpler and more relaxed.
