Mathura is famous as the birthplace of Lord Krishna, an important deity in the Hindu religion. It is an important pilgrimage place of the Hindus and one of the seven sacred cities in India. Close to Mathura, we also stopped by Vrindavan, another major place of pilgrimage noted for its numerous temples.
