We spent the day hiking around the glaciers in Westland National Park. It was pretty cool to be so close to a live moving glacier.

25 km south of Franz Josef Glacier is the town of Fox Glacier. Both the glaciers are in Westland National Park.

Fox Glacier, although we did not actually see it but just the town itself, is named after the New Zealand PM who visited back in 1872.
