New Zealand - Taupo

May 21, 2003 (Wai-O-Tapu & Taupo, New Zealand)
Wai-O-Tapu (Sacred Waters) is an amazingly colorful geothermal volcanic area. It is located almost 1/2 way between Rotorua and Taupo. Our stay in Taupo was very brief as we continued southward to Wellington.

One of the many craters in Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. The yellow coloring is a result of sulphur and you can smell it too.
